Florence Chung is the Chief Engagement Officer of The Hetty Group, a public safety community engagement strategy firm. She has 20 years of experience at the intersection of law enforcement and the community, working with corporations, nonprofits, law enforcement agencies and communities nationwide to help create stronger, safer communities.

With a background in community organizing, corporate social responsibility and stakeholder engagement, Florence has created multiple cross-sector partnership and engagement initiatives for Fortune 500 companies such as Amazon, Ross Dress for Less and Target. From grassroots programming to national level strategies, Florence’s expertise in multi-stakeholder engagement builds a connected public safety ecosystem to develop creative solutions. Florence is the founder of Police Foundation Partners, an initiative that provides support and resources to a national network of police foundations to help them become the most effective bridge between communities and police for enhanced public safety. 

Florence served on the board of directors of the Los Angeles Police Foundation, New York City Police Foundation, Los Angeles Regional Crime Stoppers and the University of Southern California’s Asian American Alumni Association. She also served as a City Commissioner under appointment by the Mayor of Los Angeles. Florence is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).

Brad Brekke is a nationally recognized corporate security executive (retired) and federal law enforcement executive (retired). 

As Vice President of Asset Protection/Corporate Security for Target Corporation, Brad was the visionary behind the “Target & BLUE” initiative, an innovative law enforcement relations and public/private partnership framework that received multiple accolades from The Washington Post, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, The New Yorker and others. 

Brad was then appointed to launch the Office of Private Sector within the FBI in Washington D.C., where he served as its Director, to strategically develop the FBI’s partnership and engagement with the American business community. 

Brad served as a board member of the IACP Foundation, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) and FBI Domestic Security Advisory Council (DSAC), and has worked with many national organizations like PERF (Police Executive Research Forum) and MCCC (Major Cities Chiefs Association).

Akash is a corporate social responsibility executive with a global career spanning the corporate, nonprofit and intergovernmental sectors. A strategic collaborator, Akash enjoys helping leaders identify and create key opportunities that impact their triple bottom line. 

Akash helps corporate leaders integrate social purpose and sustainability into their business and marketing strategies. He previously worked as an Executive with the CAA (Creative Artists Agency) Social Impact Team, where he supported Fortune 500 brands in amplifying their cause and purpose-driven marketing efforts. 

Prior to his role at CAA, Akash created Development3, an international firm focused on shaping mid-market companies to integrate corporate social responsibility. Before Development3, Akash worked at the Commonwealth in London, as the Head of Office, Corporate Services. His role focused primarily on refining core business objectives, establishing solid intergovernmental partnerships, and leading special projects.

Bernard Boudreaux is the Director of the New Strategies for Nonprofit Leaders program – a signature program within Business for Impact at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. In this role, Boudreaux focuses on direct engagement with corporate partners, as well as the nonprofit leaders engaged with the New Strategies program.

Prior to joining Georgetown University, Boudreaux was with Target Corporation for over 30 years, where he held various leadership positions in corporate responsibility (CR) as well as in their merchandising/buying division. Within his 18 years in Target’s corporate responsibility division, he oversaw community involvement and volunteerism for local Target stores and distribution centers coast to coast, as well as led various initiatives focused on stakeholder engagement, diversity and inclusion, reputation management, and executive level board placement.

Jim McDonnell retired after serving forty years in public safety in some of the nation’s largest law enforcement agencies. Most recently, he was the elected Sheriff of Los Angeles County, leading over 18,000 employees in the largest Sheriff’s department in the country. Prior to that role, McDonnell served as Chief of Police of Long Beach Police Department. McDonnell spent most of his policing career with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), where he rose to the rank of First Assistant Chief of Police. 

McDonnell is a respected voice on local, state, and national criminal justice issues, having served as Vice President of the Major County Sheriffs of America, a member of the Major Cities Chiefs Association and previously as President of the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs’ Association, President of the California Peace Officers’ Association, a member of the California Commission on Peace Officers’ Standards & Training (POST), and a board member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).

Matthew Horace is a 28-year veteran of local, state and federal law enforcement, a security expert, and a recognized expert commentator and analyst on CNN, MSNBC, FOX, ABC, NBC, the BCC, etc. on issues related to crime, security and law enforcement. He also served as a contributor to the Wall Street Journal's Crisis of the Week column. Matthew currently serves as the Chief Security Officer for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. 
 
In his latest book: The Black and the Blue: A Cop Reveals the Crimes, Racism and Injustice in America’s Law Enforcement, Matthew describes his own personal experience as a Black man in law enforcement, and is a frequent speaker to student groups, athletes, corporate executives and community groups.  Matthew was an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University teaching courses in criminal justice, crisis communications and leadership.
 
Matthew is a graduate of Delaware State University (an HBCU) and in 2009, he founded The Horace Foundation Endowment for Criminal Justice Studies at the University in memory of 4 university students who were slain in a Newark, New Jersey school yard.

Sasha Cohen O’Connell, PhD is a Professorial Lecturer & Executive in Residence in the Department of Justice, Law & Criminology, School of Public Affairs at American University, as well as Director of the Terrorism and Homeland Security Policy Master’s program. She is also a Senior Advisor in the National Security Sector of Guidehouse LLC (formerly PwC Public Sector) where she continues to engage with federal law enforcement agencies on issues of strategic concern. 

O'Connell spent the majority of her career at the FBI where she served most recently as Section Chief of the Office of National Policy for the FBI's Deputy Director where she led policy engagement with the National Security Council on a wide breadth of issues. During her time at the FBI, O'Connell focused her energy on enhancing strategic, risk-based decision making; driving cross-programmatic strategic initiatives; building partnerships across government and private sector; and driving strategic communications and outreach to enhance the public's understanding of the role of federal law enforcement. 

​As a founding board member of #NatSecGirlSquad, Ms. O'Connell mentors women entering the national security and law enforcement space and advises organizations on matters related to enhancing diversity in the national security space.

Ron Mark served 33 years in public safety and emergency management, and specializes in building training plans for organizations. He is the Director of the Center for Criminal Justice Research & Training at California State University Long Beach (CSULB), leading one of the primary law enforcement training agencies in Southern California. Mark works with police departments across the region to advance modern training in topics such as implicit bias, de-escalation training and constitutional policing. 

Mark served as a Captain of the Signal Hill Police Department. He is also an Adjunct Professor at CSULB and teaches a variety of courses in criminal justice, including Policing and Ethics and Diversity in the Criminal Justice System.

Geof Rochester is a recognized thought-leader across corporate sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR), nonprofit management, philanthropy, and social entrepreneurship. Founder of Geof Rochester & Company Consulting, he advises nonprofit, social enterprise and corporate brand leadership on marketing strategy and social purpose. 

Rochester held executive roles in marketing in highly visible, aggressive-growth companies across entertainment (Comcast, Showtime, WWE), hospitality (Radisson), consumer products (Procter and Gamble) and non-profit sectors (The Nature Conservancy).

Yael Bar-Tur was the Director of Social Media and Digital Strategy for the New York City Police Department, where she oversaw social media outreach efforts from 2014 -2020.

She introduced the concept of decentralized communications to the agency, rolling out an initiative that gave each of the NYPD’s 77 precincts their own social media channels to communicate with the public. She has developed her own strategy and training guide for social media and policing, and has trained hundreds of members of service on the use of social media, both in the NYPD and in other agencies. 
 
Born and raised in Israel, Yael served in the Israeli Army as a foreign press liaison in the height of two wars, and was also a reserve duty soldier in the Israeli mission to Haiti immediately following the 2010 earthquake.  She holds a Master’s Degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, where she wrote her thesis on police use of social media. Her work has been featured in Mashable, American Police Beat Magazine, The IACP Social Media Beat, and the Harvard Shorenstein Center on Media,
Politics and Public Policy.
 
In 2016 she was named as one of the International Association of Chiefs of Police 40 Under 40, recognizing 40 law enforcement professionals under the age of 40 from around the world that demonstrate leadership and exemplify commitment to their profession. In 2018 she was awarded the Hemmerdinger Award for Excellence for distinguished public service by the New York City Police Foundation.

Robbie Williams is a 24-year veteran with the Hawthorne Police Department and is currently a Lieutenant and commander of the Community Affairs Bureau. 
​

In 2020, Robbie was featured in an article by People Magazine related to his experience as a Black man in law enforcement, and he is passionate about making a difference as a police officer in building trust between cops and communities. Robbie was the co-founder of Coffee with a Cop, Inc., a nonprofit with a program recognized as the largest and fastest growing community policing dialogue program in America, which is also hosted in over 26 countries. Robbie is the recipient of the 2015 Homer Garrott Community Service Award presented to him by the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE).

Prior to his career in law enforcement, Robbie served in the United States Marine Corps and as a Mental Health Social Worker at Portals Mental Health Rehabilitation Center in Los Angeles. He holds a masters degree in counseling, with a specialization in Marriage & Family Therapy.


​Robbie also serves as a P.O.S.T Instructor at California State University, Long Beach, where he teaches a mental health crisis management class for police officers.
